Four Economic Times Journalists Bag Shriram Awards for Financial Reporting

Economic Times journalists bagged four awards at the 6th Edition of the Shriram Awards For Excellence in Financial Journalism.

Saloni Shukla and Joel Rebello were declared winners in the Financial Institutions category for their article FRDI Bill: Not So Draconian After All.
Atmadip Ray was the sole runner-up in the same category for his report Why Microfinance Institutions are Struggling for Survival.

Hari Pulakkat was adjudicated the winner in the Sectoral Issues category for his piece The Precarious Situation of India’s Water Problem.

MC Govardhana Rangan and Gayatri Nayak won the first runner-up award in the Economic Policy category for their feature

Sangita Mehta, Babar Zaidi and Soumya Aji were also nominated for their write-ups.

In all, ET journalists won four awards across three of the total five categories under which nominations were sought.

The nominations were chosen by the Institute for Financial Management & Research (IFMR), an independent research and academic institute based in Chennai.

The jury included Economic Times consulting editor Swaminathan Anklesaria Aiyar; TN Ninan, chairman of Business Standard; AK Bhattacharya, editorial director, Business Standard; R Jagannathan, editorial director, Swarajya; Gopal Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Capital; Srinivasan Swamy, chairman and managing director, RK Swamy BBDO; Ashu Suyash, MD and CEO, Crisil; and Adit Jain, chairman, IMA Asia.
